This Kishu Shimpaku Juniper, styled by Jan Culek in 2019, was created during a Bonsai Society of San Francisco meeting. The rock used in the display was sourced from the European Bonsai San Show by Eric Schrader. The tree's branches and pads have been gradually thinned and rewired, with ongoing refinement to maintain its form. The composition emphasizes the intricate interplay between the roots, rock, and moss​.
