This Stewartia, prized for its copper-colored bark and large buds, was imported from Japan by Boon Manakitivipart and has been in the care of several bonsai artists. It has won Members’ Choice awards at the Bay Island Bonsai Exhibit twice, in 2005 and 2015, and continues to be a standout in bonsai exhibitions.
