This Coast Live Oak was collected in the late 1990s near Aptos, California, by Garreth Shepard. Estimated to be over 100 years old, the tree was acquired by Michael Pistello in 2017, who continued its branch development. This is its debut at the Pacific Bonsai Expo, making it a significant addition to the exhibition. The oak is displayed in a Yamaaki container from Japan and stands on a base crafted by Jerry Braswell.
