Originally donated by Richard Brustlin to the Clark Collection in 2017, this Sawara Cypress experienced significant damage due to pest treatment but has since recovered. In 2019, the tree was reshaped by curator Bob Hilvers and bonsai professional Todd Schlafer, and its continued progress represents a significant achievement for this species in the Central Valley. Julian Tsai, the current advisor, worked with volunteers to prepare it for exhibition.
